According to The Seattle Times, up to three home invasion robberies early Sunday morning (May 31st) lead to a SWAT team standoff in an Burien apartment complex in unincorporated Boulevard Park.

Three men in their 20s were arrested after hiding in a unit in the Veranda Green apartment building, located at 11301 26th Ave South in Burien unincorporated Boulevard Park.

Police say that a woman called 911 around 6am to report that three armed men had broken into her unit and stole some cash. The report also says that at least two other apartments in the complex were robbed as well.

After the woman called police, the three suspects fled to a nearby apartment where an alleged friend lived. The female resident who lived there escaped safely with her four children.

Around 11:30am a SWAT team and hostage negotiator responded and fired pepper spray canisters through the apartment’s windows, two suspects gave up. About an hour later, the third suspect surrendered as well.

According to some of the residents interviewed on the scene, crime is apparently quite rampant at this complex.
