We stopped in recently to say Hi to our friends in White Center. While there we picked up on tips to keep in mind in preparing for and dealing with the coming seasonal shift in our Northwest weather.

Doug and his crew are located in the bustling Delridge Triangle, where West Seattle meets White Center at Roxbury.

Doug began working at Center Tool Rental when his parents, Jack and Stella, started the business in the 1970’s.

”My parents were really good at the personal touch, asking people about their kids, and giving them advice on how to complete a project,” he said. “Some of my current customers are the grandkids of Mom and Dad’s first customers.”

Zoe the dog will greet you at Center Tool Rental.

And Zoe, Doug’s friendly German Shorthaired Pointer, is doing great as usual, happily greeting all comers to Center Tools.

We at the Blog have it on good authority that Spring really is on its way, so we thought we’d take a moment to remind you of what Advertiser and Friend Of The Blog Doug Stevens of Center Tool Rental has available for rent, seven days a week.

“Years ago there was a fairly well known radio personality who lived nearby,” Doug recalled. “He rented a pressure washer from me, went home and with all good intentions pressure washed his family members’ names on the sidewalk in front of his house. A day or two later, he re-rented the same pressure washer to wash out the names.”

Turns out, radio guy’s wife had not been amused.

Center Tool Rental is located in the thriving Delridge Triangle, where West Seattle meets White Center at Roxbury.

“The list of what we have to rent out is pretty long,” Doug said. “Our rental book has 37 pages. About 70% of our rentals are for around-the-house projects, and about 30% goes to light contractors.”

If the arctic blast that flew in, uninvited, several days ago wasn’t enough of a reminder that the coming winter can be a harsh visitor, then perhaps these snow photos from Advertiser and friend of the blog, Center Tool Rental, will serve such a purpose.

“Some of my current customers are the grandkids of Mom and Dad’s first customers.”

“I like to think I carry on the neighborly feel and that I impart helpful information to people who come in,” Doug said. “And you know, I generally learn something new every day.”
