Hi Scott,

Just thought you might want to know it seems like Burien is rapidly changing.

In the four years that we have had Bistro Baffi, there have been no incidents.

However, in the last six months we have had several unpleasant events. We had four tables stolen from our patio. We had both of our outside heaters stolen in spite of the fact that they were chained. The patio has been vandalized with flower pots stolen. It is really demoralizing and concerning. We involved the police.

You might want to let the locals know via your blog to be more vigilant about their own private property. We feel that it is a “local job”!

Regards,
Dinka Vujovich

“The Plantcam is great!” she said. “I even used it to capture the view of one of my listings and have that posted online.”

PlantCams sell for around $70 on Amazon, and we encourage all our Readers who can afford it to buy one and shoot their own time-lapses, then send us your videos. Our goal is to post one different time-lapse from a different Reader every week – think we can get enough folks on board?

Here’s Susan’s video, which we find impressive because it appears to span an entire day, from sunrise to sunset. Be sure to pay close attention to when the tide goes out starting at around :40 in:

BTB Advertiser Sunrise Financial Services wants our Readers to know about the “6 Things Not To Put Off If Retirement Is On the Horizon”:

by Janice Hammond, Financial Advisor, Sunrise Financial Services

We meet with new clients all the time that are within a couple years of when they want to retire, yet they have never met with a professional financial planner. Here are some of the things we do, or suggest doing in our meetings:

Buying Long Term Care. There have been changes to the Pension Protection Act that have changed the LTC arena-for the better. With new asset based products, you no longer need to worry about “not using it, and losing it”. Also, many options let your LTC income come to you TAX FREE.

Refinance your mortgage, if you have one. Waiting until after you retire could greatly impact your ability to qualify.

Realistically determine what you will be doing in retirement. How much will your spending habits change? What are your short and long term goals? Will your health care costs be going up?

Janice Hammond of Sunrise Financial Services.

Increase liquid reserves. There can be other options besides a savings account for this, and it’s important to keep future inflation in mind when determining a sufficient investment vehicle. If you’re not earning more than inflation, your money is going backward in value.

Give your investment strategies a “tune up”. You should be reviewing your investment strategies on a regular basis but, especially if you’re nearing the end of one life phase (accumulation) and transitioning into another (distribution). These are 2 very different phases and should be handled accordingly.

Review your estate plan, will and trusts and make sure your designated beneficiaries are up to date.

These are just a handful of the things that need to be considered during this important transition. You have saved and planned for this moment most of your life, this is the time to measure twice and cut once. If you or someone you know would like a professional pre-retirement review, contact Sunrise Financial Services.

Burien native Janice Hammond has been in the financial service industry for about ten years.

About two years ago Janice decided to venture out on her own and Sunrise Financial Services was born.

Janice and her team focus on safer money solutions that still offer reasonable rates of return and ways to win by not losing money in the first place.

Janice’s goal is to develop a customized financial program that meets your individual needs.

She understands that the current financial climate has left people feeling overwhelmed. People then tend to do nothing instead of coming up with a financial plan.

Sunrise Financial Services has a simple process that can work for anyone.

Janice Hammond of Sunrise Financial Services will donate $100 to a charity of your choice if you do business with her.

Your first complimentary consultation will consist of a face-to-face “getting to know you” meeting.

They will take the time to explain your options in a simple but informative way. They also hold on a regular basis financial workshops with guest speakers.

Call to schedule your very own meeting today or get information on their next public workshop.

Janice is not only passionate about financial services. She also is very involved in giving back to the community.

In fact, when a new client does business for the first time with her she will donate $100 to one of the charities she supports.

Also, as we’ve previously reported, Janice has been the driving force behind two rather large local fundraiser events that gathered items and money for local charities.

Call or email Janice for more details at:

keepyourmoneysafe@sunrisefinancialservices.net.

She is looking forward to helping you meet your financial and retirement goals.

Whether you are at the beginning or end of your financial journey, Sunrise Financial Services is there to find safer money solutions.

Hello,

Not sure if this is where to send this info to but it seemed like a good idea.

I live across the street from St. Francis Church. The night before last we were awakened at 2:45 AM to find 3 coyotes in front of our house on 21st.

We already lost 1 of our cats to a coyote last year around this time. Had I known we had coyotes in our area I would have been more careful about making sure our animals were all inside at night.

In hopes of possibly saving someone else’s pet I thought it would be a good idea if something was posted in your blog about this.

Thank you for your time.
