Sina Ghodsee, Man Who Threatened To Kill Police, Arrested In Utah

King County Sheriff’s Department reports that Sina Mehdi Ghodsee, wanted for threatening Normandy Park Police Officers over the telephone, was arrested Friday night (Oct. 22nd) in Salt Lake City after a traffic stop.

Ghodsee, 21, of Normandy Park, has three warrants, totaling $270,000 bail, as follows:

Telephone Harassment, King County: $250,000
Telephone Harassment, Fife PD: $10,000
Telephone Harassment, SPD: $10,000

KCSO says that the felony charges arise out of several calls Ghodsee made to the city of Normandy Park in September 2010, wherein he stated he had a sniper rifle and was going to kill one of their officers, naming him specifically. He also threatened to kill all of the Normandy Park officers. He made other calls as well, naming officers. Ghodsee also had a MySpace page where he listed the entire Normandy Park Police Department by name under a section called “Hit List.” Included on the page were video clips of a movie showing a man being brutally killed. Above the video clip were the words:

“This is for the Normandy Park Police Department. Finish what you started cuz I’m plotting your day in hell.”

He also made threats to bomb the police station in Normandy Park.

Ghodsee is a former resident of Normandy Park. His mother lived there until recently until she went into hiding because she is afraid of her son.

Although only 21-years old, Ghodsee has a rather extensive list of criminal convictions:

Burglar Tries To Escape Through Police Exercise, Fails

From the “it could only happen in Burien” police files comes this recent tale of a dumb criminal who robbed an area house, and in his haste to escape, ran right into a police training exercise:

On Thursday, March 26th at about 2:40pm the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission Basic Law Enforcement Academy received an unusual visitor on campus: a felon fleeing the Normandy Park police after breaking into a home.

Unfortunately for the suspect, the academy staff and senior class were participating in what are known as â€œPatrol Beat Mock Scenesâ€, a daylong exercise in which recruits patrol the campus facility in marked academy police cars responding to simulated calls for service. The man was later caught by academy staff in the neighborhood bordering the campus after interrupting a training scene on campus. He had committed two residential burglaries, escaping the second one by diving out of a closed window injuring his hand.

Recruits and an instructor working the simulated crime scene were contacted by an on-duty officer from the Normandy Park Police Department who came to the academy campus searching for the felon last seen on foot in the area. The officer stopped to tell them about the situation and asked them to call 911 if they saw the suspect. The instructor, a Kirkland Police Corporal, used his radio to alert other members of the staff who were involved in training scenarios around the facility.

A few minutes later, the suspect, a 21-year old man, walked out of a wooded area of the campus past a group of recruits who reported his presence. The suspect fled back into the woods pursued by a Des Moines Police Officer who tailed him until he crossed 192nd Ave South where he was seen dumping stolen property by a Washington State Patrol Corporal. A Seattle Police Officer and Renton Police Officer recovered the stolen property which included a handgun. The suspect jumped several fences across backyards in an attempt to escape. A short time later the man was taken into custody by a Des Moines Police Officer, U.S. Forest Service Officer and Renton Police Officer.

Normandy Park Police Find Missing Officer Dog

Numerous sources tell us that the Normandy Park Police Department was missing one of its finest…dogs…but then found him Sunday.

Apparently Officer “Rocky,” a two-year old bloodhound who weighs 80 pounds, got out of his handler’s yard Saturday night in Des Moines and went missing for a while.

Des Moines police and King county Sheriff’s officers even used a helicopter in the search.

But all is well, as Rocky is back on the beat and sniffing up bad guys as you read this.

No word yet on where Rocky went, why he took off, or what he did during his AWOL time.
