Organizers of last Friday’s first-ever ‘Pie Joust’ report to us that they’re missing the ‘Suit of Armor’ (pictured above) that graced Burien Town Square as a decorative prop.

According to Organizer John Nelson, the missing Knight was last seen in the entryway of Mick Kelly’s Irish Pub (435 SW 152nd Street), where it was moved shortly after the joust cleanup concluded.

“It departed the scene sometime between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. when the final person locked up,” Nelson said.

The prop, on loan from the Hi-Liners, cost $500.

“If we can’t find it, we will donate $500 to the Hi-Liners. Even though they said we don’t have to compensate them, we feel it is the only reasonable thing to do,” Nelson added.

We just ran into Tour de Friends Organizer John Nelson at the Wild Strawberry Festival, and found out that Friday night’s fundraiser for Burien’s Para Los Niños, considered a success, had one glitch – the Alaskan Amber tour bike didn’t get raffled off.

“Only two people showed up for the drawing,” Nelson said. “So we didn’t do the raffle – but we’re going to hold a do-over on Wednesday night, June 22nd at 7 p.m. at Mick Kelly’s.”

Nelson says that entrants need NOT be present to win.
