The Burien/Normandy Park Fire Department Kids’ Day is coming Saturday Sept. 10th, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Fire Station 28, located at at 15100 8th Ave SW.

This is a great annual event where kids of all ages can meet local hero firefighters and emergency personnel, climb on board a fire engine, see a helicopter land, make crafts, play games and just experience up-close the coolness factor that only our local fire department can provide.

BTB Advertiser Matt Griffin YMCA wants our Readers to know about their FREE ‘Healthy Kids Day,’ which will be held from 10am – 1pm on Saturday, April 16th at the Y at 3595 South 188th Street in SeaTac.

Matt Griffin YMCA is a new, state-of-the-art facility with a friendly, community environment.

The day’s events included demonstrations of rescue techniques, hands-on activities including scavenger hunts and an opportunity to use a fire hose, plenty of fire trucks and rescue vehicles, and prizes for the kids.

Burien Girl Scouts will be holding a “One Warm Coat” drive this Saturday  from 10am – 3pm at the Kids’ Day at the Burien Fire Station, located at 15100 8th Ave SW. .

They’re asking residents to bring clean, reusable coats to drop off at collection boxes at the event, on behalf of Transform Burien Clothing Closet.

“One Warm Coat” started out in 1992 as a Thanksgiving Weekend coat drive in San Francisco. Since then, more than 1 Million coats have been donated in thousands of local communities across North America. Each coat drive has the same intent — to collect coats that will be GIVEN to those in need.

The Burien/Normandy Park Fire Department will be hosting “Kids’ Day,” their annual open-house event on Saturday, Sept. 18th, from 10am – 3pm.

In addition to a full day of FREE, fun and informative events, there will also be low-cost helmets for anyone over the age of 1 for sale for just $7 by Safe Kids King County South. These will be custom fit by Highline Medical Center staff, and wearer must be present.

This is a great way to also meet your local firefighters, so mark your calendars now.
