She felt that Burien was the perfect location for a retail tea shop like Phoenix Tea. Prior to the launch of Phoenix Tea, the shop’s other co-owner, Brett Boynton, spent nearly ten years as Manager of The Teacup in Queen Anne, building relationships with devoted customers and spreading information about tea and tea culture. He has traveled to Taiwan five times in his pursuit of high quality tea and tea culture experiences, many of which are documented on his blog Black Dragon Tea Bar.
