While the Brat Trot 5k and Oktoberfest is still almost two months away, it’s not too early to start getting in the mood for this fun and festive annual event.

To help you get motivated, The Tin Room Bar (a BTB advertiser and Brat Trot sponsor) is holding a series of hash events leading up to the Brat Trot.

What’s a hash you ask? Well, we’re not talking about the traditional dish here.

According to Wikipedia, a hash is a non-competitive running/walking, social, drinking event. It got it’s start in 1938 in Kuala Lumpur and has since spread around the World.

The Tin Room event will kick off at 11am on four Sundays leading up to the Brat Trot — August 14, August 28, September 11 and September 25.

Participants will meet up at the corner of 10th and 152nd streets in front of the Masonic Hall for a leisurely romp around the Brat Trot course that winds up back at the Tin Room for food and drink specials.

Sounds like a good plan to us!
