There’s a liquor store there, so why not a dispensary for people with cancer and chronic pain? It’s not like they’ll be selling it to school children on the corner.
why is this in the crime section its for medical weed is not a crime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you editor for moving this out of the crime section
What about us that just like to enjoy a little herb now and then..
They need to just legalize it and all this shit would go away..
One would think the DEA and ONDCP has doctors or scientists on staff. Sadly this is not so – we would like to see that changed and believe it is a step to change. Please sign our letter to President Obama requesting he appoint a medical doctor or scientist to the DEA and ONDCP.
Please read and sign the petition at http://www.change.org/petitions/appoint-a-doctor-or-scientist-to-the-dea-and-ondcp#?opt_new=t&opt_fb=t

Just more stupid, time wasting political bull, as usual.
If anything should be outlawed, why don’t we take a look at the devastation that alcohol causes…Hmmm.
Isn’t there really more pressing matters at hand? Really?
Marijuana should always be illegal. I’m against its use by anyone.
I would much rather confront a person who is stoned on pot than a drunken idiot any day,
Coverofnight:
What negative consequences have affected you personally by a user of medicinal marijuana?
* Number of people who died of TOBACCO RELATED causes last year: 430,000 people
* Number of people who died of Alcohol related causes last year ( alcohol poisoning, cirrhosis of liver, etc.. NO DRUNK DRIVING DEATHS INCLUDED ) : 160,000 people
* Number of people who died from opioid pain killers last year: 15,000 people
* Number of people who died from marijuana (ALL MARIJUANA USERS, NOT JUST MEDICAL) : 0 people – There has NEVER been a documented case of a marijuana related death. People have been using marijuana for medical purposes for 5000 years. It is one of the oldest pain killers, appetite enhancer, PMS Cramp reliever, sore muscle soothers, EVER.
quotes from http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2009-09-30-drug-overdose_N.htm :
“Addiction to prescription painkillers — which kill thousands of Americans a year — has become a largely unrecognized epidemic, experts say. In fact, prescription drugs cause most of the more than 26,000 fatal overdoses each year, says Leonard Paulozzi of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The number of overdose deaths from opioid painkillers — opium-like drugs that include morphine and codeine — more than tripled from 1999 to 2006, to 13,800 deaths that year, according to CDC statistics released Wednesday. ”
“In the past, most overdoses were due to illegal narcotics, such as heroin, with most deaths in big cities. Prescription painkillers have now surpassed heroin and cocaine, however, as the leading cause of fatal overdoses, Paulozzi says. And the rate of fatal overdoses is now about as high in rural areas — 7.8 deaths per 100,000 people — as in cities, where the rate is 7.9 deaths per 100,000 people, according to a paper he published last year in Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety.”
“About 120,000 Americans a year go to the emergency room after overdosing on opioid painkillers, says Laxmaiah Manchikanti, chief executive officer and board chairman for the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.”
The more people doctors prescribe marijuana to, the less people we are going to have dying from drug overdoses in an attempt to live a comfortable life, free of pain.
