It would be nice if the lights could stay year-round. The last time my kids were in that dank place a dandy fellow citizen dropped his pants to show off for them. And it IS the last time they were there. Or ever will be.....

I would like to let people know that this is not a permanent lighting scheme. It is holiday lights in the trees around the stage. Neither the city nor BA is installing wayfinding or safety light fixtures. Installing power is obviously the first step but you should let the city know you want permanent lighting that can make the park not only safe but a place that can be used for events.

I had no idea this was happening and will be at work for the last push.. but this is great. I know someone who will be very happy now to walk through there without a flashlight and a fearful thought on the way to the bus.

This is the kind of volunteerism I like to see, and would be proud to be part of in this city. This cost the city and taxpayers (as it seems) very little- if anything, yet will most likely make an impact in everyday lives. I know it will for me, as I too feel uneasy walking in and around Dottie Harper park at night. I often sour on the projects involving government agencies, it seems they often are overly expensive, overly bureaucratic and miss the underlying mark. Good job guys.
