Great news parents and children – according to Burien Parks Director Michael LaFraniere, the fences are coming down, the light poles are up, and the new “Jacob Ambaum Park” (at 12685 Ambaum, just north of SW 128th on the west side), WILL BE OPEN THIS AFTERNOON!
The official opening of Jacob Ambaum Park will still be Friday, June 13th, but you can now access the park!
So get outside and play!

And sure enough, it is- lots of people playing there this afternoon. Looks to be the same playground equipment manufacturer as one of our favorite Seattle playgrounds, Powell-Barnett.
Not my personal ideal children’s playground location, nestled in between gas stations there, and right along the busy road, but I hope it can stay kind of nice for a while.
