BURIEN –A man who robbed a Burien tobacco shop March 7th claims he needed money “for diapers,” according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
The man is still at large; see surveillance video still on the left.
Authorities say the suspect was armed when he robbed the Burien Tobacco Mart, located at 14400 Ambaum Blvd. SW, just before 8 pm.
The suspect first stopped by the beer and wine cooler before pulling out a handgun and demanding money from the cash register, police said. He took two wine coolers before fleeing on foot.
The shop’s clerk said the suspect spoke with a slight lisp, but it could have been because he was nervous
Police describe him as a black male, roughly 22 years old, and about 5-foot 8-inches tall. He is about 140 pounds and was wearing dark jeans, a black stocking cap and a black jacket with gray sleeves and a Rhino logo on the front.
